Contact us for a consultation

Whether you’re looking to renovate the whole kitchen or just update some features of your home, RoomFour can help.

Our team of experienced designers and registered builders can assist you in choosing quality materials and trades for any renovation.

You can either come see us in our showroom located in Yarraville or Kew, via the website Contact Form or call us on 1300 076 664

Showroom Consultation

We will initially arrange a time to meet with you in our showroom as this is a great opportunity for us to truly understand your vision for your renovation.

You can see firsthand the passion and experience our team have when it comes to delivering exceptional renovations.

Some things to prepare for the first consultation include:

• Having any floor plans, details of works carried out previously and photos of your kitchen space are a great start as these will allow our designers to provide best recommendations and advise for your renovation plans.

• Having an idea of the most important things you’re looking to get out of your renovation, e.g. more space, more surface bench space, etc. Our experienced renovation team can provide advice on any aspects you’re unsure of.

• Having some design ideas, which could be in the form of magazine cut-outs, photos of other kitchens or screenshots from websites. This will help our team understand the kind of look you’re after for your kitchen.

• Having an idea of what your budget spend is. Our team will be able to advise you on what is realistic within the budget you have allocated.

• A time frame you would like to work to. Take note of anything that is likely to slow or delay the renovation process, such as family coming to stay.

In Home Consultation

After meeting in the showroom and establishing the design and type of renovation you’re looking for, we then arrange a time to come meet you in your home to view the kitchen space.

Measure Site and Discuss Solutions

We measure the site location so that we can build a realistic idea of how everything will piece together.

Measuring the space will allow us to develop a plan around your requirements and gain a realistic idea of how the various aspects of the kitchen will come together.

Some things we look at include:

• Doorways and wall structuring
• Electrical wiring in the walls
• Electricity and its proximity to water sources

Plan Drawings and Elevations

We’ll take all the information that we’ve gained throughout our consultation to then begin drawing up the plans and designs. These plans will be what is used by the builders to carry out the renovation.

The drawings will include all changes to be made and what the new kitchen will ultimately look like.

Determine and Source Costs

There are a number of various factors that can affect the cost of the renovation, i.e. structural work.

The main aspects we look at to determine costs include:

Structural Renovation

– this can involve re-stumping, extending areas and taking walls down.

Cosmetic Renovations

– this includes painting, replacing floors, updating kitchen areas, fitting fixtures.

RoomFour have a wide network of tradespeople and suppliers. We are able to source materials and products from a number of quality suppliers to ensure you get the best value from your renovation.

We have experience in both structural and cosmetic renovations – so you won’t run into any nasty surprises down the track.

Prepare Your Quote

Once we’ve gone through the in-home consultation process, i.e. discussing kitchen ideas, getting floor plans, measuring your kitchen, drawing new house plans and determining the costs involved in your home renovations, we can then get to work preparing a competitive quote for you that is transparent and doesn’t cut corners.

In the refinement process we work with you to refine details and make adjustments where necessary.

At RoomFour we are completely upfront with our clients and ensure no nasty surprises or hidden costs.

We only move forward once you are completely comfortable and confident with the renovation plan.

The refinement process includes:

Consult on revisions
This is where we discuss revisions that may need to be made to the renovation.

Re-draw Plans & Elevations
When the revisions have been made, we’ll re-draw the plans to the new specifications to suit you and ensure the plan is professionally structured for relevant trades.

Re-cost the Project
The cost of the project must then be altered in accordance with the new plans, adjustments and material usage.

Issue a New Quote
A new quote will be issued to you with all the changes made including a new cost for the project.

Client Acceptance
Once you’re happy with the plans/costs and accept the final changes, we can then move forward with process of choosing the best fixtures and fittings for your new kitchen.

Natural Kitchen Colors

Now that we have got the layout and design of your kitchen renovation, it’s time to look at the finishes and appliances that will bring your kitchen to life.

Finishes and Appliances Discussed
Here our expert team of in-house designers will work with you to decide what pieces and finishes you want in your kitchen.

Some of the items we consider at this stage include:

• Countertops – these take up a large amount of surface area which can be the basis of colour for your kitchen materials palette.
• The cabinets that will be used in the kitchen
• Additional finishes and fixtures

Final Selections Made at Showroom
By meeting with your consultant at our showroom, you can discuss the final selections for your renovation.
Final Measure Made Onsite (if Required)

After the final selections are made at our showroom, we will complete final measurements (if needed) at your home to ensure everything will fit in the space nicely.

Discuss Trades Required
Suitable tradespeople will then be discussed.

Deposit Payable
The deposit for the renovation can then be paid to RoomFour before moving into the build phase.

Now that the planning and designing is complete, it’s time to turn your dream renovation into reality. Throughout the build we manage the implementation and construction of the kitchen.

Processes in the build stage include:

Ordering Materials and Trades (if required)

Cabinetry Cut/ Build
The cabinets will be cut into the designed pieces and built according to your specifications and needs.

Mock Assembly at Workshop
A mock assembly of the cabinets will be done to ensure that all the pieces are correct and align.

The dissembling of the cabinets will be done once they have been checked for correctness.

Materials Loaded for Transport
We then load all materials to be transported taken to your home for installation.
The finishing step involves fitting and installing all of the different features and aspects of your new kitchen.

Amenities Disconnect Demolition
Disconnection of all services to the home including electricity, gas and water will take place so that renovations can begin safely.

Rough in Electrical Plumbing Prepare Area
Once everything is disconnected we begin preparing and put a rough placement of the new amenities going into your home.

Plastering and sheeting of walls and ceilings may be required, depending on the level of renovation work required.

Deliver Cabinetry (1/2 Day Install)
The cabinets will be delivered to your home and installed within the day.
The electricians and plumbers will come back to make sure all amenities are correct and properly fixed into position in accordance with building regulations.

Geometric Patterned Splashback
stunning marble kitchen splashback

Splashbacks and Stone Tops Measure (if required)
If you decided to include splashbacks or stone tops in your kitchen, this is where they would be measured and ordered.

Splashbacks and Stone Tops Install (if required)
Last of all, the splashbacks or stone tops would be installed by tradespeople and fitted accordingly.

2nd Fix Electrical and Plumbing
The plumber and electrician will revisit your home and complete all their final fit-off and commission your appliances and any other plumbing and electrical devices, which are associated with the renovation works. A compliance certificate will also be supplied.
